The Youth Work Foundation Certificate aims to equip students for a career in Youth and Social work within the Australian Mental Health/Community Services sector. The course is a great starting point for those looking to enter the industry for the first time, and doesn’t assume any previous work or educational experience in the sector.
Students learn the basics of child and adolescent mental health before moving onto counselling skills. Upon completion of the course, students have the option to either enter the industry in assistance/support roles, or continue their training depending on their career goals.
The course has been created with the Australian Industry and Mental Health sector in mind, and is updated every 3-6 months to best reflect the latest research and trends within the industry. As a foundational certificate, no prerequisites are required to complete the course.
Please note that some organisations may require further training for certain positions.
