Everyone knows somebody either directly, or indirectly, who has been affected by addiction in some form. This course aims to equip students with the skills to provide genuine help to those in need, suffering from substance abuse issues.
The certificate covers both the knowledge of psychopharmacology and counselling skills needed to provide the help to people who need it most. Upon completion of the course, students will have a good idea on how a wide variety of drugs affect people, and the ability to offer counselling services to those suffering through addiction.
The course has been created with the Australian Industry and Mental Health sector in mind, and is updated every 3-6 months to best reflect the latest research and trends within the sector. Students are then prepared to either enter the community services sector, or move onto further study if they see fit in order to apply for more advanced roles.
Please note that some organisations may require further training for certain positions.
